Las Vegas and New Glasses

Aug 03, 2007 00:30

This past weekend me and a bunch of friends went to Las Vegas for a Bachelor party, we had a BLAST! It was a very fun but expensive weekend. I ended up losing $750 at gambling, but that is ok, I brought $1000, so as far as I can see I came home $250 richer then I expected to :-P as for what actually happened at the Bachelor party... what happens in ( Read more... )

I like the first 2 (I actually can't tell much of a difference looking at them separately) and the second to last one. I think they are very fashion forward.

The first two are similar, the first is slightly more square and the second is slightly more round. The only problem with them is that the frames are VERY thin, so I don't know if my prescription will fit in them or not :-(

One weird thing about the two Jhane Barnes frames is the strange fat square cross-section bows, I really need to figure out if I can handle that aspect of them or not. The bows on the Oakleys are "sport bows", the same style I have on my current pair of glasses, I like that style of bow quite a bit.

Thanks for the input! :-)

Do not like the holes in the arms of the last one. The next-to-last one is pretty good.

The second one looks OK but not so sure about those flared arms. The first one looks too "granny" with the upturned half-cat-eye corners.

From James:
"yeah, the only pair that I even slightly liked was the last pair, but seeing them on the person makes a difference"

When asked about the second to last pair:
"eh, I guess those aren't too bad"

Go to SEE eyewear on Newbury. Ask for Paul - tell him I sent ya.

They have really nice stuff and the prices are all really resonable once you take frame and lenses into consideration. They get their stuff direct from designers (no name brand) and there's tons more than on the website. It's not all frou-frou and totally not overpriced just because it's on Newbury. You just have to try stuff on in person!

So a few problems with that.
1) Their website is down
2) They don't take VSP (the vision care I have through work)
3) Do you have any opinions on the frames I linked above?

Website is up!

Prices are reasonable w/o insurance. I paid less for my last pair (without insurance) than my glasses two pairs ago that I got with insurance.

Mmmmmmmmm- gotta see the glasses on. They are just going to work with your face or they're not!!

i really like the third pair. although, it's because they remind me of buddy holly, with less cateye.

in general the only pair i don't like is the last. the thin frame around the lenses doesn't jive with the rest of it.

i think you should go to some place where you can take pictures of yourself in these and camwhore it up so we can see what they actually look like on you.

i'm back next week, so i'll definitely see you at katy's, right?

I like the look of the third pair, the only thing I don't like about them is the lack of adjustable nose pads. My face actually IS crooked (unlike yours...) and without adjustable everything my glasses can sit at an awkward angle :-P

I'll defiantly be at Katy's next weekend!
