I just got back from Jason and Rainie's where we watched American Wedding and although it wasn't as torturous as its predecessors, it still managed to piss me off. At least this time, it's not necessarily b/c it wasn't funny (it actually had its moments), but b/c it put forth a concept that just pisses me off in general. What is with this

Let's face it Jeff, anyone how views a relationship that you describe here as a "healthy" one is obviously delusional. I think the majority of us have all had those certain relationships where we became something other than ourselves: too needy, melodramatic, over-reactionary, obsessed. But the upside of all that misery and stupidity is that we can all learn something from it. That's what people are supposed to do anyhow, learn from their mistakes. Shit, when I went through all that business in high school I didn't have a prayer of managing a helathy relationship, and neither did my girlfriend at the time. But I suppose that is what you're supposed to experience in high school, have shitty relationships.

And in this crazy world of reality TV and diet sodas, who can expect people to follow these old-fashioned notions of working at a real relationship anymore?!
