Meredith was clear, when the idea of a party came up, that she's never done anything like this before. What Meredith has isn't even an idea. It's a notion. It's an inkling that, if she tries, she can find something worthwhile to do with her time here, somewhere to turn her attention, a project that needs her. Swimming
Almost before she's opened her eyes, Meredith's sinking down into the clinic chair, gripping the desk as if that should keep her steady now. Even with blurred vision, she knows she's back where she's supposed to be, but it's a little longer before relief sets in; she's occupied in wiping the tears from her eyes, taking deep, calming breaths. Most days, honestly, all Meredith really has to do in the clinic is check the charts the other doctors have left, make sure files and supplies are still organized and everything's clean and sterile and in working order.
