Just how dead is LiveJournal? I can go and catch up on a week of posts in an hour, on a busy day. It used to be that it would take a few hour just to catch up on the days posts ( Read more... )

I still read LJ every day. And yes, I can easily catch up in my lunch hour. I don't post as often because my life is boring and boring posts garner few comments. I am trying to post more often though. See, I will make a post now!

I've stopped using my custom view now, as I can get through everything posted to facebook in a few minutes, rather than the hours it used to take.

I use Buzz nowadays, for a mixture of following friends, and random interesting people.

I still read FB most days, but I do use it more and more as a private diary. I like reading what other people write lots. People write less, but their posts are interesting, maybe more than if done every day.

I still write tl;dr posts, as much for myself as the admittedly few people who bother to read them, at least in their entirety. Not everyone reads LJ, not everyone follows Twitter or FB, but combined you have a good chance of reaching many, if that's what you're going for. I pay attention to Twitter during the day at work and sometimes out and about if I've got nothing better to do, and sometimes will read LJ at work as well. Never touch FB during the day because it's blocked and while I can find ways around it, it's really not worth it.

I prefer Dreamwidth for many reasons, so I've started crossposting to both sites. Conveniently, DW has a feature that does it all automatically for me if I post there first. I still read my LJ friends, but not as often or as regularly as I used to. I can't imagine completely giving it up though.
