aw simon, this is a bittersweet entry. i think you've really perfectly captured that melancholic homesickness with your writing, and it makes me want to just storm into that motel and help you party away your woes!
i'm sure this will get easier with time - when you get back to melbourne go and enjoy a sweet breakfast by the jarrah or at a pastry shop in st kilda so you can remind yourself of what an amazing city you're in!!
that said, i also think this feeling is a really important one to have experienced in your life. if you ever return to perth, you will be able to appreciate it so much more than you ever have before. you'll know that you're not here because this is the sleepy little town you're forced to stay in, but because it is a home you love. and i think that knowing that is really important, even if you only return briefly in the future.
life hey! it's quite exciting with its many emotions. xx
hey magda :) its so nice to hear (read) your voice (post).
yeh, you're definitely right in that regard. lifes all about experiences and this is one in itself. i think i will take your advice about doing something that is fantastically melburnian and remind myself that im in a great city!
i knowww!! I asked Tom if you were coming but he said you were busy with something else ;( and i totally missed you on my return to Perth recently (but to be honest.. it was like a whole 2 or 3 days in total.. no time at all!). have you got any future plans for travels (apart from your worldwide adventure!)?
oh simon i so badly wish i could come round! i am not actually busy, just saving for my big round the world trip next year. atm i am considering just screwing those savings and having a fun winter break, but tbh i probably shouldn't.
i will eventually drop round though! visiting melbourne has become an annual tradition of sorts for me, and i'd like to keep that up. :) with so many friends in melbourne now it would be an exciting visit!
so true - it's good to feel as many things as possible in a lifetime, even if some don't feel so good at the time :(
and no worries re perth, i actually didn't know you were even here and must have sent you that msg by accident (how eerie!). sounds like a quick stopover, so srsly do not stress. we'll party next time!
Chuh, when I said "write an e-mail" I didn't mean "post it to the world".
Anyhow, sorry about the timing yesterday, such a pity as I wanted to talk to you also, mosty about Peter Pevensie and Prince Caspain from Narnia (and their OBVIOUS gay undertones).
Your post worried me at the start but I'm glad it finished on an upbeat note - if it were a movie, you'd be walking in slow motion towards the camera with "I'm Every Woman" playing in the background.
I've recently read about Buddhism and its' taught me that being in positions that we are, in a world like this, we are in the top 8% in terms of wealth and lifestyle and so should always ALWAYS feel blessed.
Not long to go now until the woman and I make it over. We're super excited and hopefully will call Richmond our home. When we get there you will have to take us out - maybe to Ikea to buy beddings and cutlery.
lols, yeh i know. sorry kim, i just didnt know how to break it down you for g-styles. this weeks been tough hey, but its all going in the right direction now ;) i agree with you RE: I'm every woman, except i really was going to end my post with "i am strong, i am invincible, i am woman".
i called you back after you called me (talk about playing hard to get phone styles). sorry, i was at this work conference and we had no reception at the resort. i cant wait to see you luvvy!
its a friday night and im at home and im 100% fine with that. talk about being all grown up! but in saying that, yes i did have a couple of cheeky ones last night.
i'll get that paper for you tomo and send it through. do you need any further information?
