I keep trying to find new reasons, inspirations, excuses to write. One that I keep bringing up, is that I'm going to lock myself in a room with a synth, recording equipment, etc for a couple of weeks and come back with an album of very dancy atonal/12 tone music. If Shoenberg had a microkorg, I'm sure he would have done the same thing.

Sorry to have been away for longer than I wanted. I came home to post, and found that my computer had died! I've been only using work computers for the past week, and well, there are some thing that I don't want to do on those. Anyway, my new computer has arrived and is updating as we speak!

Hi Folks, all maybe 3 of you who may actually still read this.
I haven't forgotten about this, in fact I've been very aware of it. I will do a post to sum up last year and make plans for this year, but I am waiting on some very specific analytical data. Once I know that, I will post. Hope 2011 was good for all of you, it certainly was for me.

Well, things have arrived, the two crazy weeks are done, now it's time to get into a routine. Tomorrow starts into my first regular day off. It'll be nice to get myself back into schedule again ( Read more... )

You have to set out the rules before you can play the game.

When all of the options are open, it's hard to know where to begin.

For most people it is the biggest setback.

Many don't think to set rules of their own, when none exist.

If you set your own rules, you can always change them later.

But at least it gives you some place to start.

Must stop procrastinating and actually write something...

Today is the first day of some serious summer relaxation, and I feel like I have stuff that I should well, actually that I need to get done, but I just don't care enough to actually go do it. I will go and maybe quasi be productive. We'll see.

I do too many different things. Too many areas of interest. However, I'm finding that as I come to grips with my lack of free time, and resent my lack of dedication in certain fields, I find my focus shifting a little bit. It is both rewarding and scary to embrace certain things and leave other things behind. Often I'm very cryptic on here ( Read more... )

Well, after some time mucking about, I have VST synths working on my computer again. I may only have a few for right now, but they're enough to keep me impressed for now. Plus with spaces, I can be typing with one hand, while having my other hand play "church organ" on a midi keyboard. Just geeking out again. Fun times on my day off!
