Kim Dickens should be embarrassed by her performance in 'Fear the Walking Dead'

Good Lord, she was terrible! She was Ed-Norton-in-The-Incredible-Hulk bad. Kim Dickens was OK in Gone Girl and House of Cards but she was laughably incompetent at expressing basic emotions in Fear the Walking Dead. I was going to write about that as part of my recaps of The Walking Dead that I’m starting this season but I was so annoyed by that “ ( Read more... )

THANK YOU for this post! It describes so well how awful Kim Dickens is, especially in this role. And why we literally CHEERED when her death was revealed on the show...but, then how sincerely PISSED we have all been that she was brought back! Can't even watch FTWD now, and it 100% is because they put Madison back on the screen. I've been through all the highs and lows of FTWD, and still enjoyed it...but Madison back in the story is too much. I wish that Nick could reanimate and kill her. Still bummed that the show lost Nick.

I watched FTWD because I ran out of zombie shows after Black Summer, Z-Nation and a few other good Korean ones. Found this series stupid and annoying right from the start. All the characters were incredibly self-centered and whatever crisis arose, it was usually because of their selfishness, stupidity or their knack of leaving doors wide open in a zombie apocalypse. Well, most of the characters got better along the way, except Madison - irritating from beginning to end and I finally realized in season 8 that it wasn't just her Karen-mum character but it was mainly her lousy acting skills. This series sucks. The writing sucks. The bond between the characters, not convincing. After season 7, I started watching TWD and what a world of difference! I was hooked. I wish there was a 12th. With FTWD, I was just hoping it will end soon. Now I'm going through s8 just because of commitment. TWD had me on the edge of my seat, FTWD made me want to gnaw my couch in frustration.
