[last time I posted here, it was the Avengers trailer. Two months ago. Somehow this feels eerily appropriate now.]

The Avengers opened here a week ago, thanks to it being the 4-day Labor Day holiday [say that 3 times fast], so it turns out I've watched it 4 times already. The excuse was so I could watch it in 2D, regular 3D, IMAX 3D and stuff, but ( Read more... )

AWWWWWWWW. Thanks for that link, and big fat YES to everything they wrote. In the beginning of the movie I was actually wondering HOW were the gonna bring the Hulk in without it blowing up in their faces, and there came the "it's a terrible privilege" scene between Tony and Bruce, and it dawned on me that OF COURSE it had to be Tony. He's the only one who could get inside another genius' head and rationalize his feelings/burden, because he's been there, done that, screwed up big time a bunch of times.

You haven't seen the Iron Man movies, right? You should. The first movie is the one film I would use to teach people how is it you make superhero origin movies. And Jon Favreau is my kind of director/writer -- the funny parts are inherent to the storyline, he doesn't set out to make a comedy, it's just that humor is part of life, even when you're dying. And the movie has heart, which a lot of people wouldn't ever fathom in a film about an unlikable rich white dude. The second movie is not as perfect, but it follows the same ethos.

Hee, they're on my list. I've seen parts of the first movie (on a flight or something), but never start-to-finish. Now I guess I'll have to. :)

I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS. But #1. Clint/Natasha all the goddamn time. HOLY SHIT. The way he said "Natasha" in the recovery room was just. so. LOADED.
