Went to see The Avengers for the sixth time today, and I had a couple of thoughts during the movie, as one is wont to do when one is reciting the lines along with instead of paying attention. The brain wanders and well, this is what happens.

Okay, I'm just gonna say it: you've seen this movie too goddamn many times. You need help.

Actually, I noticed some of this--not the glass so much as all the mirror shots--and I rarely analyze movies enough to notice stuff like that. This in no way negates my point that you have a problem and need a twelve-step program of some kind. :)

Ha, 6 times isn't anywhere near my record of going to the movies to watch the same flick. Also, you know, the adorable blond obsession is still much worse than this, so. *g*

But this is the first time in a very very long time that every single rewatch makes me realize new things about the story. [Well, I had figured out the mirror thing awhile back too, this time I just paid attention to it.] And I'm pretty sure that has to do with Joss being behind it.

My favourite is when we see Loki's reflection on the glass while he's talking to Natasha. So powerful, because he's being an utter dick and doing all the talking, but what's the most important in that scene is her reaction. LOVE IT!

And then she ownes him. LOVE IT MORE!

And it's a nice trick too, because his reflection only shows up on the glass when she starts reacting to the words. I love that every time I go watch this movie I come out with new information.

Oooooh. Whatever, I love your insanity. I went to see it again Friday night and a lot of the more obvious reflection shots, like Captain America in the motorcycle mirror, jumped out at me more than they had before, but seeing it all laid out like this is kind of glorious. I especially love the faux mirroring of Bruce and Tony when Tony's trying to give him the big you-can-be-more pep talk.

Also, I've been watching West Wing S1 all day and I blame you. Celestial Navigation is up now. I HAD WOOT CANAL.

Even though I was paying attention today, I missed a few scenes until I actually looked at the caps. And because this is Joss, all the glass is not there just for the pretty, everything packs quite a punch of ~symbolism~. But at the same time, it's all very organic to the movie, the glasses and the mirrors never distract from the story.

And yaaaay West Wing! I just watched Galileo, and as usual now I kinda wanna watch it again instead of moving on to the next episode.
