After a peaceful nights sleep
I have a most urgent need to spend all of my waking hours on the dress for the upcoming event. I have ordered the stones for my buttons, and while I await the arrival of said stone, the red dress is cut and in the hand sewing stage, the blue dress is still in its original form (meaning 5 yards of linen), and my fingers are starting to resemble pin ( Read more... ) -

The boys went back to school on Wednesday, the house feels incredibly empty without the extra background noise--no stomping, no wrestling, no video games, no kid's television... Wow! It's been a while since I've been on LJ. Life has been going at a break neck pace, I can't believe Pennsic is in two weeks (or maybe one if I go early). I've been so caught up in real world commitments that I've totally lost track of time. My youngest is in need of mostly new garb. Important dates!
Yeah! My friends Annie and Greg had their baby yesterday. Phineas Matthew was born on June 19th! Phineas and Geoff share a happy birthday! And today is the 14th anniversary of our wedding day. But of course, D has golf league and I scheduled scribal night, maybe we can celebrate tomorrow. -

Jokes (and the lack of understanding)
I am pretty confused right now. I mean we started this whole idea of the duchy as a joke to get people to a smallish event. Suddenly, we (E) are getting e-mails about the legality of holding land, people are wondering about paying the taxes, and just have totally gone insane. What's up? Project update
Wow! I really wasn't expecting the depth of this project.. I've given up embroidering the body of the dress for this weekend. I still have another 30 odd buttons to sew on and about 100 button holes to sew. Why do I feel the need to do it by hand? Argh... The belt took alot longer than I expected.
