So this question, I ask you - does advertising really influence your choice of tampon ( Read more... )

I'm grateful for the adverts, on an educational level - without them, I would never have known you women have blue blood ;)

You're not alone, I've often wondered the relevance as well... most of the advertising is not informative nor is it even remotely relevant to the product (i.e. Girls camping on beach sneaking onto hotel premises for free foor massage - HELLO - Where is the relevance in that?).

In previous experience, I had never cared for the wrapper, I always bought my preferred brand and went on my way. The free chocolate idea sounds perfect

As for the re-usable sanitary pads - I guess it's no different to washing a cloth baby nappy, but irrespective of this, all I can say is "gross"... I didn't even know such a thing existed!

Actually it was a tv add that led me to try Tampax Pearl..I'll never use another brand again! They are AWESOME! I know it sounds stupid, but compared to ALL the tampons I've tried, they really stand out..the thing I like about them is the applicator..some of the other ones would get caught on my skin and pinch me and stuff..these ones go in really smooth..blah they should pay me with all that advertising I just gave em..

Those ads don't really influence my choice [ew at the re-useable], though I always reckoned they were more targetted at girls reaching or just hit puberty - "oh i must use these ones 'cos they're cool!"

Libra is still the best brand ;)

I agree I find most the advertising just pointless. As for the packaging I have been buying the De Jour brand tampons for the past few years, and the first reason I grabbed them for was the nice matte silver package that is nice but still discreet ;). As for zebra patterns, they can stay on the shelf me thinks.
