Shallow Thoughts, by duchessmel

I am, by nature, a dog person. I love dogs. I love the way my dogs always looked at me, as if they wanted only to make me happy. On the other hand, dogs don't purr. Purring has an awful lot to recommend it ( Read more... )

I think if they could make a dog that purred then it would be the perfect pet.

Hurry to see Iron Man, it is a better picture, but it won't be in the theather very much longer. Oh I think you underestimate just who those filmakers are making a wink and nod to. More than a few people know who Bixie and Fugerno are. And Stan Lee for that matter. :-)

Bixby and Ferrigno?!? The Heir's seen Ironman and loved it. I was a little reluctant because I'm not already in love with the character, but from the little scene at the end of TIH, I think maybe I'd better see it to be prepared for whatever comes next. If I miss it in the theater (and I'm going to try not to) I'll pick it up on pay-per-view or Netflix. Thanks for the advice, though!

I sent my dad a card. He loved it. It was a W. Eugene Smith photo he loves called The Walk to Paradise Garden. I talked to my dad on the phone and I guess for 83 turning 84 during Pennsic, he's doing great, but I can hear him slowing and that makes my heard squeeze a bit. It will rip me apart when he is no longer at the other end of a card or phone. I haven't said hi to you in a while, but it doesn't mean you don't cross my mind; actually I think of you every time I mention Emerson in my LJ. Odd, aren't I. Point of all this, wanted to say ... HI. Sending a virtual hug. Emerson sends you a waggy tail smile.

"There were the Tony Awards; even if I haven't seen any of the productions, the Tonys always put on a good show."

and Whoopie does a great job at whatever she hosts! My youngest (son) just graduated with a degree in Theater Arts/Stagecraft ... as I was watching last night, I was day-dreaming that some day he'll work in NYC and perhaps a show he builds for will win a Tony ;-)

Dogs and cats both have their different selling points.

It certainly does. I would love to be sitting with purring kitties right now :-)

I miss my dad, too. It has been quite a few years now.
