Kutner is, without a doubt, my favorite new fellow. =) I just wanted to shout back, "I love you, too, Kutner!" LOL
I liked the little connection with Cate. It's sad that House would only have that with someone so far away, although there is, of course, a chance she could pop up again the future, being adjunct faculty at the PPHT, so...who knows. I'd like to see what House would do if she did show up again. But anyway, I liked it. And I felt like House was a sad puppy for a while there at the end after her South Pole friend saved her life and gave her a nice hug.
Best episode of the season, I thought. =) Too bad there's only one more left. Ugh.
Honestly, the only thing that really bugged me about Cate was the "I've only exchanged two minutes of conversation with you and seen a blurry webcam pic of your living room but I have penetrated the mysteries of House's heart and mind." The writers have done this before and it annoys me every time. I don't care if she is a psychiatrist--it takes more than that to understand another person.
I didn't see House as being sad at the end, more...resigned? Which is sad in it's own way.
Ha. Yes, very true about Cate. The "insomnia" thing didn't bother me that much, as House makes these sorts of assumptions about people all the time - basing a theory on some tiny piece of evidence and running with it. The one bit that bothered me was the "you'd rather show me your soul than your leg/scar" (whatever she said). That was a bit too deep for the information she gathered in - what? - a minute.
And resigned is a much better word. I guess what I was trying to say was that *I* felt sad about it. First he has to watch that hug moment, then gets his solitary, lonely existence shoved in his face when his best friends finds a relationship. I felt sad. And wanted to give hugs. LOL (But glad at the same time, because a solitary House is my favorite kind.)

That bit puzzled me, too. Especially since House had just said he'd rather get naked than let her keep poking around his home...which is the exact opposite of what she then concluded. Maybe if I watch it again it'll make more sense, but on first viewing I was left saying "huh?"
And I agree--as much as I love pairing House up in fic, I prefer the original to stay lonely and miserable.
Cuddy didn't get more screentime than Cameron. IIRC they each had two scenes. Chase was the one who got ignored, unfortuntely. They seriously need to learn how to use all these characters they've got now more effectively.
And the promo--it made me insanely happy. Now I just hope the ep is half as good.
Now this is the sort of ep I like, with lots of Wilson. It seemed that he was being more deadpan that usual, XD! I liked how Cate "looked" him up. It's nice to the fact that Wilson isn't all so nice as he seems coming to light
I also LOVE KUTNER. He had the sweetest look on his face when he gave House his x-mas gift and PREVIEW WAS AWESOME and made me squee and choke and clap all at once, XD!!
Honestly, Wilson wouldn't be nearly as interesting if he were as nice as he pretends. I don't think House would like him nearly as much if he were as nice as he seems. I think House is intrigued by that dichotomy, and I think he's one of the few people who knows just how deep it goes.
Oh, and we found out that Wilson has fallen down the stairs, drunk, at some point and House did nothing. Not surprising.
I could not stop laughing at that. Hee. Even now.
House to Wilson: You're not dating Cuddy; you're straight.
Like House has never heard of a beard. But beyond that--a SERIOUS lack of Cuddy AGAIN. Don't get me wrong--I'm all for some Wilson loving, but I want my Cuddy too.
Thank you. Though I was deeply appreciative of her telling Wilson that if he stayed with Amber she would feed upon him like a parasite until there was nothing left but a Wilson-shaped chalk line on the floor. Which then led to the OT3 part of the episode where Wilson told her House was doing an excellent Cuddy impression.
