Finally....

An excuse to plant my ass on the couch and watch tv. Not that I need an excuse to plant my ass on the couch but it's much more enjoyable when there's something to watch. Last night--House. Tomorrow--Supernatural. Dexter and Pushing Daisies...well, they're coming.

dying sort of changes thing...especially if you're the one who's dead )

What was the WTF? line for Cameron? It slipped by me.

I totally agree with you about both Wilson and House. They've both had a wake-up call, and I'm hopeful they can both make positive changes and build a better relationship.

Cuddy was very strong here, and I appreciated it. Just as you said, she knew House and Wilson couldn't make the connection between themselves, so she stepped in to help.

But I did not like the "Go to hell." House gives her shit for four seasons and gets nothing on those occasions, but Wilson gets snippy once and gets a "Go to hell"? I get that House is her favorite, but c'mon. If I were Wilson, I wouldn't have believed her "stay with people who care about you" line either. Unless she's done way more in the past few months than was shown/referred to, I wouldn't blame Wilson for shutting her out too. Foreman showed more sensitivity to Wilson than Cuddy did.

Cameron's line was something along the lines of "I suppose you want me to sleep with him." Which admittedly could be a joke (as opposed to last year's WTF line of "I'm not showing him my boobs" when no one had indicated any interest in her boobs) IDK--it just came out of left field for me.

But I did not like the "Go to hell."

In fairness, Cuddy has said much worse things to House. However I'm willing to agree to disagree. It's one of those things I think is open to interpretation (Cuddy's motive, that is) and interpretations vary :-) Like Foreman supporting Wilson's decision to leave. It was nice but I think it was also at least a little colored by the fact that Foreman tried to escape House and couldn't.

Oh, yeah, that line! And then House suggesting the 13/Wilson/Cameron threesome. Weird.

Oh, yes, true. I remember thinking something along those lines when he said it.

Did you watch the promo?

Yeah, I mean I think Foreman was sincere. It's just that all these characters have layers--which is great.

I did watch the promo. All I remember is a little bit with the PI and Wilson telling House that if he showed up again, he wouldn't open the door.

I thought wilson was the one avoiding House for 2 months, not the other way around. Cuddy was fucking great in this ep. 13 is so goddamn boring, why do the writers keep shoving her at us?? I liked sarcastic!Chase a lot, House is apparently rubbing off on him, although he'd probably deny it to his last breath.

All they (House) really said was that Wilson wanted his space. I don't know if that means Wilson told everyone (or just House?) to stay completely away, but even if he did, House would never accept that under normal circumstances. He would've stayed away for a short while, then he would've been showing up at Wilson's place, poking and prodding.

true, but Wilson is so passive-aggressive that he probably waited a very long time before telling House to take a hike. I would like VERY much to know what went on in those two months we didn't see.

I suspect those 'missing' two months are going to be fodder for a lot of fic.

I could've easily ignored 13 if she hadn't been plastered all over the screen.

I think we might as well get used to 13 being up front and the center of the writer's attention. Now that Sam Carter's no longer on the air, someone's got to take up that sort of slack. *g*

Cam V 2.0 just isn't interesting. Being bisexual in and of itself isn't interesting. It might be interesting if *Taub* were the bisexual one, but not her.Being a bisexual female is interesting to young men, who are of course the target audience of just about every show, so of course it's going to be interesting. They'll force feed us the character until we agree too ( ... )

I hadn't thought about it that way but you're probably right. Of course it feeds into House's long running fascination with lesbians, too, but yeah. Because of course all those women tuning in to watch Hugh (or RSL or Jesse or Omar), well, we're not the audience they want.

I'm kinda liking Taub though. He strikes me as a bit like Foreman in a senseI have liked Taub at times. There just haven't been enough opportunities to get to know him. Or Kutner, for that matter, 'cause it's all about 13. I'd like to spend more time with the guys because I do like both of them. But apparently they aren't interesting or mysterious...or bisexual ( ... )

the majority of House fans actually happen to be straight women and gay men, and we are unlikely to find her interesting. real feminists don't have anorexia, BTW. they also don't try to debate to their boss that some woman they don't even know should have a baby that she doesn't want.

Doesn't matter who's actually in the audience, all that matters is what the advertisers and studio executives want the audience to be. Advertisers generally want younger audiences, preferably male, and the studio executives try to have the show fit those specifications as much as possible.

And yes, I know that wasn't real feminism, not at all, which is why I referred to it as "OMG!Feminism!" That sort of crap is what people who don't understand feminism think hardcore feminists are like.

What's so difficult for them to understand about basic feminism? Is it really an outlandish concept to treat women as human?
