Yesterday was the first day same sex couple could apply for marriage licenses in Iowa. In our county, the grand total for the first day was 46 couples applying. That's so cool that there were no protestors. I'm sure there will be in some places, but it's impossible to protest at every location that offers marriage licenses.

I was surprised--glad, but surprised--there were no protesters. Those people don't usually miss an opportunity to preach their bs. Maybe they all congregated in just a few locations. Whatever the reason, I'm glad they're not here. Other than a little party, life here is going on pretty much as usual, which is as it should be.
