I have found myself in quite a bit of a funk the last few days and I'm not really sure why. I mean, there are little things bugging me, but nothing major, and I feel like sort of a whiny baby for even getting upset about such things

I've been feeling sort of funky lately too, I wonder what is up with that.

Is J at all willing to move to Nashville? Or does he need to stay in Athens for his job?

He needs to stay here for his job. He is finally making really good money (he just got about a 10K/yr raise.. he makes $16K a year more than I do), and more importantly, he really likes what he does and he likes the people there. Furthermore, he does not have a degree and pretty much every job I've seen in GIS requires a degree, and starts out making at least $15K less than he makes now.

So yeah, he's not moving to Nashville.

As for me, I mean, I can find a job doing what I do pretty much anywhere, and for about the same amount of money. It's why I moved here instead of him moving to Nashville -- my skills are more portable than his are. Which sucks for me right now!!

Things will probably get better. I was pretty miserable for my entire first YEAR in Nashville, but I ended up being pretty happy after that first year. I've only been here five months. I just needed to vent, and what better place than livejournal, eh?

we had a good conversation tonight when he got home. i cried, he consoled. he is very good to me, no doubt.

Hey - I guess this is the way of Karma and balance. I'm finally finding myself to be in a fantastic position right now. I'm always worried when that comes about because then one of my really good friends tends to go through the other side. Yin/Yang.
PLEASE let me know if you come up, Nashville misses you too.
Oh yeah - and when you do get to come up, maybe you'll get to meet my girlfriend. :) :) :)
