What's the story on that rock?

The rock supposedly reached its current balanced position naturally over time. I have my suspicions, though. When the tide is fully in, the rock looks as though it's resting on the surface of the water.

Liz's family knew of the rock's existence but not its location. It turns out it's a little further along the coastal path than they had been before, and Liz and I stumbled across it ourselves when we were last there, in May.
