If the two of you are breaking up because you think that it's the best thing for you, then fair enough. Get some space, clear your heads, work out whether this is what you want to do or not. I, personally, hope you decide to give it a try, because you're both lovely people and you'd make a wonderful (and incidentally, very pretty) couple.

You two know your own feelings. Don't let the opinions and expectations of others get in the way of that.

Don't let other people's expectations force you into behaving one way or another - whatever course you take, they'll adjust and get used to it. If they can't, that's their problem, not yours. It's never nice (or easy) when your friends don't like something you're doing, but at the end of the day it's not their life, it's yours.
