So, I went to see GWAR last night... it really was as much of a spectacle as I could have hoped for. Death, dismemberment and getting drenched in blood are all big pluses at a metal show, I must say. For some reason, Johns Hopkins has seen fit to admit me to their program.... this is quite possibly the best news I have ever received over the telephone. Fucking surreal.

I'm still waiting on most of my grad school admissions/funding decisions, but I've at least been awarded a fellowship/TAship at Minnesota. So, no Foreign Legion for me. In the acceptance letter, a full tuition waiver was referred to as a "fringe benefit," which I found a bit odd. In any case, it seems to bode well ( Read more... )

I finally got a job yesterday....from a man dressed in a bunny suit. Consequently, Madison is postponed until January, although the delay makes sense for a number of other reasons as well.

GRE is in less than an hour. Should be fun times.
