Apparently, Georgia is considering banning 'evolution' as a term taught in schools. Not the concept. Just the word.

Did I miss something? When did being called liberal become a bad thing? The word has been politicised to the point where it doesn't really mean anything anymore as far as I can tell, or if it does it now has nothing to do with the actual meaning (read: dictionary definition) of the term. that being ( Read more... )

Going back to Seattle is like going home to me. I lived near Seattle on Vashon Island for 16 years, so that's not surprising. It's such a different feeling than Spokane - driving away both Nico and I commented on the fact that both of us, for whatever reason, felt better. I've been reading the bbc news online.. There's a little article on Bush and his gay marriage policies that invites comments. There are a few (of the against gay marriage sort, of course) that got my attention - or rather, made me breathe out slowly so at to maintain composure. ( Wow is all I can say. )
