So I went whitewater rafting for the first time last weekend. It was a lot of fun, especially because I didn't fall out of the raft! We went through some class five rapids, which was pretty crazy. So things are cool here. We've been festival hopping - it's surprising how many there are in random West Virginia. But it's fun. I had some amazing Dippin Donuts this morning and also some good pumpkin baked goods. This afternoon is the wine festival, which should be fun. So I was in my first eating contest last night. Whoever could eat the most mashed potatoes in a minute and a half won. So. Three days left of classes and then finals. Well, I still have a lot left to do, but it'll go by fast. And then Washington DC and then home and then West Virginia! Yeah, I got an internship there to talk to people about alternative energy and cleaner ways to produce energy. And the #1 industry there is coal. Sometimes I get very scared for us. For people AND animals. Since when does Refuge=drilling when we can't get the oil for at least another 10 years and gas prices happen to be high now? Why do people never think to reduce their use of oil in the first place? There are lots of unimplemented technologies.

So things are going pretty good. Well, classes are okay. I just really want to be done with school. But at the same time, my biggest fear in life is to be done with school and to move on with my life. So it's kinda strange ( Read more... )
