This is gorgeous. Oh, I'm at a loss for words. This is just how I like to imagine Duncan with his daughter. Perfect. Really, really perfect.

*sigh*

Aww, thank you! And yeah, I like to think he'd be a sweet dad, if a bit clueless.

That was just perfect.
Sad and sweet at the same time. And a little happy thrown in for good measure.

“You’ll have to buy yourself some new bullets, I’m afraid,” Lamb says. “I’m not really into the whole getting shot thing.”

“If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn’t have killed you,” Duncan replies. “Just taken out your kneecaps.”

This has to be my favorite part of the fic. Beautiful, and so in character.

Thank you so much for this... beautifully written.

Love it too much. Don Lamb as emissary, great twist. I love the idea that Lilly II is the descendant of broken women, a piece of each. So lyrical.

I don't know how you do it. First of all, if you think I would click on a fic about Duncan and Lamb if you didn't write it...well, I wouldn't. (Mostly the Duncan part. Yick.) Only you, my dear! Because I know it will rock. That's the kind of power you wield! (*insert evil laugh here, if you like*)

Amazing Things That Happened As I Read This Fic:

1. I liked Duncan.
2. I LIKED DUNCAN #@$@#@!!!
3. Did you see 1 & 2? Seriously.
4. I don't 'ship Lamb/Veronica at all, but I kept reading when that happened because you freakin' hypnotized me.
5. I did not once want to spork Duncan in the eye.

Other things - no less amazing:

You have a gift for description that I just adore. Samples:

the memories are like seaglass now.
hair flying out behind her like ribbons as she pounds down the shore ahead of him on sturdy little legs.

her arms wrapped heavy around his neck, bare feet lazily seeking purchase in the warmth of his pockets.

a heavy sleeper practically since birth, like her head is full of dreams.
He can see her eyes moving around ( ... )

Hee. This is possibly the best feedback of all time. You made me squee a little. I will even bust out my squee icon to demonstrate.

I'm always so tickled when you like my stuff, because I love your stuff, and I think you are swell. And I'm always extra-happy when people like things despite the character or pairing not being their usual thing.

You made me squee a little. HELL YEAH! (Did QB hear you squee and think you had wandered into some other more 'exotic' websites? Because that would be also squee-worthy ( ... )
