Ignorant people forcing their opinions on others.

There's an initiative that will most likely be on the Oregon ballot this November that would make Oregon a 'Parental Notification State.'  That means that if a teenage girl wants to get an abortion, she has to get her parents' permission, even if she was raped or if it's an incest case.  That means that if some sicko gets his daughter pregnant, she ( Read more... )

If there was an exception for cases of incest, then I would probably vote for the bill. But as it stands, mine is a no vote.

I also think it's funny how you say "stop this bill from passing and save lives," when (in my opinion) it would have the exact opposite effect. I guess when you consider unborn fetuses lives, your political opinions start getting all screwed up.

I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty sketchily written. I just think it's stupid how America is getting more and more conservative and TAKING AWAY rights, rather than giving them. (i.e., gay marriage)

Indeed, I feel the sensation that America now may have more in common with the values of 12th century feudal England than with the rest of the civilized world. We have a phobia for homosexuals, we cede more and more of our right explicitly and implicitly to a single executive branch led by a man who is intellectually all screwed up inside, we don't believe in science like global warming and evolution whose evidence is staring us dead in the face... Denial of reality and or delusions (in this case, intelligent design) are one of the first signs of a mental disorder. We strive to have our government represent "values," but the Judeo-Christian ones are the only ones that particularly matter. And not very much Judeo actually--for that would make us more liberal (and probably smarter) than we currently are! Actually not very much Christian ones either... for the Bible tells Christians to be tolerant of others. Shall we say, Southern Baptist-leaning Evangelical values? That's probably better. Let us stop debating values altogether. ( ... )

This bill is interesting. And I completly disagree with it. Having an unwated baby screws up a lot of peoples lives, not to mention aide the pandemic of increasing population in the poorer demographics. Not having an unwated baby, well, the repercusions are much less severe. In most cases.

Watch the movie Palindromes. Thats the only case where i can see a child having a child could give them hope instead of bury their future underneath baby obligations.
