Does anyone else find it slightly ironic that shortly after the Harvard president was vehmently criticized for his degrading statements involving women and science, the university decided to hire its first female president?

I'd just like to point out that South Africa has legalized gay marriage. This is the country where apartheid existed until just over ten years ago. And where are we right now? Right, still outlawing it in as many states as possible.

I just got my summer reading from Carleton. It's a comic book. Actually, it's TWO comic books. I mean, they're not Spiderman comics or anything. It's a memoir of a girl growing up in Iran during the war with Iraq, overthrow of the Shah, etc., and the sequel, which is when she's a little older. But it's in comic book format. Um, this rocks.

There's an initiative that will most likely be on the Oregon ballot this November that would make Oregon a 'Parental Notification State.'  That means that if a teenage girl wants to get an abortion, she has to get her parents' permission, even if she was raped or if it's an incest case.  That means that if some sicko gets his daughter pregnant, she ( Read more... )

I feel like everything is ending. Earlier this month I finished my last ever full week of outdoor school as a student leader. Today was my last night of Wednesday night school ever, after six years of it, plus six more of Sunday/Hebrew School. Senior prom came and went.
