Sometimes I feel a lot younger than everyone else, especially in the dating arena. Many of my friends seem to have been dating/doing other things with guys, and I feel so left behind. I want to lower my expectations for people (read: possible significant others), because I think that having high expectations for a significant other won't get me ( Read more... )

It is my opinion, chiquita, that you are in fact much older than many other people in the dating arena. I believe you show a level of maturity while in a relationship above what most people our age have the capacity for. Having high expectations for a significant other is important, I don't want you stuck with someone who doesn't deserve you :)

i feel the same way, and it's funny because i was just talking about this yesterday with a school friend. in rochester it was ok, 'cause all my friends were at the same level, mostly, but since i left, it's been wayyyy worse.

The rest of the world can do whatever they like... What should concern you is what you think will make you happy. You should stick with your standards and sooner or later a intellectual, charming, sincere, honest, and wonderful guy will run into you and you'll be in the dating game AND you won't be settling for less than you deserve.
