OPA Week Five (April 26-May2)

Apr 26, 2010 16:12

Another Monday, another brand new week to start fresh if you need to, or to continue your healthy routine.  Again, I just wanted to pass along a few tips that I've come across that might help.  It's been said to shop the outer ring of the grocery store.  This is where you'll find the fresh produce, the fresh meat, the fresh bakery and breads.  Many ( Read more... )

long live OPA! i'm doing well and feeling better - i've been on my "detox" a week now, and have pretty much stuck to it, bar three mints and two cookies (little ones), but over a while week that's not too bad. exercise has been slower to get going - been doing sit ups and leg stretches, but other than that it's been walking - had a lovely walk around a lake with steve this morning, and yesterday we walked a mile to church and a mile back.

feeling good and, crucially, motivated to carry on.

Eating was definitely better than the weekend. Eggs, toast and banana for breakfast. Tortilla pizza and veggie plate for lunch. Spaghetti and salad for supper. Rice Krispie treats and multi-grain tortilla chips for snacks. In all, not too bad. Will attempt to continue the low-carb eating tomorrow.

Slopped about in the rain to get to class but took the bus partway home. Hope my shoes dry out by tomorrow. At least it will be non-raining so walking is likely, provided my shin splints quit acting up. Must remember to stretch in the morning.

Did lots of walking this weekend, for groceries and to a musuem. And then all around the museum. LOL Now I am sore. I also walked a couple blocks and back to lunch yesterday (Souplantation).

Eating is going okay, except for those darned cookies from Souplantation. LOL Still working on casserole--the part that was frozen for later use. I have ingredients to make another different casserole, but I was too tired last night. Maybe tonight.

And how does anyone make food without visiting the middle of the grocery store for dried spices, whole grains, olive oil, etc? That's pretty hard-core.

Eating went well until supper, at which point I minimized the damage as much as possible. Had multigrain tortilla chips and a banana for breakfast. Lunch was a salad with chips and extra veggies. Supper was pizza, but I only had 3 slices, which is less than usual. Ate some extra veggies when I got home from the meeting, too. 8-D Only one snack today, which could be why I'm hungry now, but I'm not going to eat at this time of night.

Even though I don't have class tomorrow I'll be walking up to campus after lunch to work on writing. Then was planning to stop at the sushi place between a play I'm watching and an evening meeting but the meeting was cancelled. I may get sushi anyway and just make the family fend for themselves. Again. I may not be home until after 5:00 and I can cook on Thursday.

I haven't been real good this week eating, but I've been on the bike most days. But tomorrow is a brand new month, so I'm starting fresh.....
