Well, happens to be a pet peeve of mine when people put in the space. I've never seen anything published with spaces, but I know no rule.

Then, until I hear of a rule, I shall put a space, just to annoy you not use spaces.

It varies from country to country (and in personal preference, too). Some US publications will tell you you do need the space. Some will tell you you don't. Some British publications say you need a space on either side of the ellipsies.
