A Thought

Subject is the title of this poem...more like a broken paragraph, but that's just the style. No rhythm, no rhyme, no scheme...
Inspired by the comedians mentioned in my latest post (sorry to those who can't see it...I did put a friends lock on it, just because I don't want it completely public...but I'll probably be removing it tomorrow.
I wrote it ( Read more... )

This reminds me of the ancient form of truth, then what that truth means--if you accept the given truth, ie "People are amused / by bringing other people down." That's a good line break, by the way.

I do question the format. Some line breaks are awkward for no particular reason that I can see (I don't see all). And why have you no punctuation except for three question marks and a couple commas?! Periods, girl. You can use them. And I have a personal quip against so many questions without answers. I tend to make questions into general musings--no question mark attached because of how I have formatted it. But that's I.

It is an intriguing thought, to say the least, and I like how it is taken the level further by the end, leaving us something to ponder.

I have a lot I could say, but I'm afraid I'll let you just discover things for your own. Take a poetry writing class if you have a chance. It's taught me waaaaaaay more than any other class on writing has yet--I already know most of what those ones teach.

Hmmm...
Thanks.

Me, too. Needs some revising, yup yup. It did have periods...they seemed to have gotten lost in the tranfer between Word and Dwanks.
Yes, I generally don't like too many questions with too few answers...but that is the situation, as well. I don't have an answer. (I seem to be writing "question" poems more often, here...)

^_^

I'm kinda afraid of poetry class, because most of my poems are terrible. And I don't do well writing poems on demand. Same with stories, which is why the story writing class amkes me nervous. But I was thinking of taking it anyway. (They do have one, and it's a choice for my minor.) I was thinking about taking both, actually, and I am really only required to choose 1 from the list....

Mm-hmm.

Even if you're questioning, there are other ways to get at them. That's what I was referring to.

Fear, eh? You need to take both classes. How else can you improve if you do not try? You also need to get used to writing some each day and writing ANYthing, even if it's crap. That's what Armstrong encourages--crap. Turn off the editor and just write.

I'll have to work on that.

Yeah, yeah. I do try. But college-level English courses scare me.
Youngberg did, too. So did Baldwin. "Write now, right now. Correct later."
