EDIT: Please note: I wrote this while I was in a lot of pain - I don't mean to jerk anyone around; his condition changes one day to the next and I've been using my journal as an outlet and as a way to give tribute. He very well could find a kind of remission. He has been a full week on prednisolone and is doing BETTER.  By that I mean his skin is not as sensitive, he is not so frantic and he is acting a little more like his old self.  He is using the cat box MOST of the time... His last accident occurred exactly as depicted in the icon ( Read more... )

Day 4 on prednolosone - no relief yet from discomfort - cat still licking - now he is urinating (not defecating, just urinating) outside the litter box. This is really stressing us out. My parents locked him out of their room so I'm sure he's missing their company which only adds to his stress... if no improvement by Tuesday, he will be going for ( Read more... )

BEFORE going ahead with the iodine treatment for the hyperthyroid, the specialist wants him on a 14-day course of doxycycline (in the tetracycline family - a strong antibiotic) because she feels the lymph node involvement and hair loss may be attributable to a bacterial condition even though nothing has shown in all the tests ( Read more... )
