I love it SO MUCH. *incoherent flappy hand gestures* They fixed it! In a thoroughly marvellous way. And I am totally stunned that you managed to give the Doctor and the Master a plausible, adorable happily ever after. LOVE. *twirls you*
I was madly curious to see which of the episodes you'd be pulling back in to use in the finale, and of COURSE it was the chess. I have a huge grin on my face. Huuuuuge.
Now I'm wondering if YOU had a model made of string, or at least a messy diagram, because that was some fierce timeline juggling.
...Hilariously I actually didn't ever try to visually plot out any timeline, although now I am hugely tempted to. (No matter how hugely tempted I am to try making the three-dimensional diagram with string and see if I really can save Gallifrey but not the Daleks, I do not think it would actually work.)
I secretly suspect that by the end I was mostly Writing This For You, by the way. "Fahye gave the Doctor and the Master a fighting happy ending? Brainshare says, idea is go!"
HAHAHAH. OKAY. YOU KNOW WHAT. Scotland, December: we will buy a whooooole lot of string and we will make pots of tea and we will construct the Time War. And then take photos of it.
I just -- I can't write them at ALL without hearing your S4 line about it being difficult and trying, always difficult and trying, and that informs every twist of narrative. So happy endings have to involve fights and an open escape hatch, even if it's only a figurative one.
But -- but I am afraid I'm probably not going to be in Scotland until January. I mean, there is the very vague possibility, but I am beginning to suspect that we are not allowed to meet. (On the other hand I have never been to Australia; you are a good excuse to go!)
:DDD And of course it has to involve fights, neither of them would be happy otherwise, and even if the Master never leaves he has to tell himself he can fuck up the Doctor's life whenever he feels like it.
I am so sad this is over! Wah! I could read this forever:). But it's been brilliant. And it's so amazing that it's with the Master's help that he solves everything... gah. Fits perfectly. <3
