Doesn't have to be new for you to be allergic to it - I recently developed a skin allergy to cinnamon even though just two or three months ago I'd been using my cinnamon toothpaste every day just fine. :/ Problem was I'd stopped using it for a few days at a time while at the bf's place and in the interim my skin decided it was happier with his toothpaste. (I know it's the cinnamon because suddenly I'm sensitive to a perfume oil and a shampoo with cinnamon scent in it too)
Point is, did you stop using something and start putting it on your face again, or eat something you haven't eaten in awhile?

It *may* be the yamaimo, but the school nurses told me it doesn't look like a food allergy. Other than that, I can't think of anything. I'll go to the doctor tomorrow, hopefully they'll be able to help me. I've got my other Japan rash back again, too - the one that in Nagoya the doctor told me "our medicine won't work on your white, delicate skin".
Ironically, I'm far less stressed now than I have been for months :/
lolol I hate Japanese dermatologists :( Have you tried getting some white man's medicine for your rash? I like Cetaphil and Aveeno products that I'm not allergic to. Anyway your school nurses might be right but I know skin rashes, hives, eczema etc because of food allergies are possible.
That said, the most likely explanation is probably that there is no explanation. :/

I did get medicine, but it was from my mom the emergency physician, and it didn't work. The (other) rash goes away in America, so it's not that big a deal, but I'd prefer not having it when someone else will be seeing it >.> At least the dermatologists around here are female -_-
This happened to me twice in high school. I went to the doctor and he said it was "dry skin" and wasn't caused by anything except being dry. It oddly hasn't happened since even though I still carry the cream he gave me around because of how ridiculously itchy it is and bad it looks.

Also, just stress is a pretty common cause. :(

When Tien had hives every day, the college nurse told him that was "dry skin" too. It shouldn't be surprising that vaseline didn't heal them -_-#
