Going to my parent's house tomorrow. That means I'll be there a few weeks, which in turn means being away from the bf for a few weeks :(

I never thought that the thought of being away from someone for so short a period could strike such a blow to me. I'm going to miss him a lot.

For those of you that haven't noticed through facebook, the news has been officially broken to the general public. Unfortunately, it wasn't as shocking as we'd hoped. Several people already had suspicions. The general consensus seemed to be that it was "cute that we had the same name".

We haven't told anyone in the department yet. We've discussed it, and neither of us care if people know, we just don't feel a need to go around announcing it yet ( Read more... )

I promised myself I would never date someone with the same name as me. I mean, what if someday gay marriage is legal and we get married and one of us changes our last name. Yay! I passed 2 qualifying exams (complex analysis and algebra). So I only have one left (manifolds/differential geometry), which I high failed, so it shouldn't take too much to actually get to a pass. I guess right about now is the time to officially start concerning myself with the possibility of failing out of grad school.
