Skinny Bitch really provoked me and turned me off when I skimmed it in a bookstore a few years ago, what did you make of it?

I wasn't a fan. My sister gave it to me, bc it was the book that turned her vegetarian. And that's really what it is (and they admit to it) -- vegan propaganda with a title that will boost sales. I've got nothing against books advocating veggie lifestyles, but this one just seemed unnecessarily mean. Like, I don't need a book to call me a fat ass, you know? For a better researched, much mor intelligent and well written exploration of factory farming, I'd recommend Eating Animals, which was amazing.

Were you more of a fan of the Hunger Games books or the Underland Chronicles?

Yes to both, although it looks like Tina petered out in Underland at the same point I did.

You should try Ally Condie's trilogy. And Divergent, just because I want someone else to discuss it with.

I liked Hunger Games better, tho they are very different series aimed at different age groups. Underland is for younger children, and is a lot less violent and political...and more fanciful and charming. HG was a lot harder to put down. Both series were fast and enjoyable, tho both kind of let me down with their third book. I'm currently reading the fourth Underland, but I'm not as into it as I was one and two.

Since the reign of Grindelwald in the 1940's, pureblood traditions have rapidly digressed. The suppression of muggles and muggleborns lead to an extreme alteration in lifestyle. This can be clearly seen by those who uphold the old ways ( ... )
