I just finished it. My brain is melted, my arms are numb and shaking, my face is burning, I feel giddy to have finished it but also extremely unsettled and sick to the stomach because I read it in the first place. If good literature is supposed to evoke a strong emotion, I guess it achieved its goal... disgust and confusion can be pretty strong,

Having read "the Bluest Eye" and heard your discussions about "Song of Solomon," I really do wonder if Toni Morrison was a victim of incest as a child. She writes about it so much in her books, it just seems unhealthy...
