Oh my, that sucks! I have a similar situation here since the landlord has the heating system on a timer. I have a small electric heater and that helps a lot though. I say go for it, get one for yourself but keep on sipping that hot cocoa :-)

small heaters ROOOOOCK. I love them.
It's perfect and they warm you up fast so you don't need them on the entire time you sit down. You just turn them on when you're feeling cold and turn off when it warms you up good.
BIG HUGE FLUFFY BLANKETS, (I recommend SLANKET) are also awesome.

I like to pile on the sweaters and use a blanket or too :) We don't turn on the heat at all since it's just an inefficient wall heater that does next to nothing. I LOVE hot coccoa too! tea as well :)and if that doesn't all work, jumping around till I get warm works ;)

Small heaters really do the trick! My fiance and I got one from Canadian Tire for $20. Its a small round heater that has a setting for a fan, along with two heat sets. Its also taken a few beatings by being knocked off a chair a couple of times on accident and still works fine and does a great job of heating the room up. Its a bit smaller than a dinner plate in size which is perfect since we're strapped and then some for space.

here is the exact one

If that link doesn't work then type in "Lancaster Fan Heater" Product #43-5866-8.

Canadian Tire goes by region so you may have to put in your postal code.

This really is the best one we've found.

And hot choco is always nice too!

Awww... you could always use a kitty as a lap-warmer... :3

Another way is to do 50-100 jumping jacks. It's not as pleasant as hot cocoa, but I guarantee you won't be cold after that!
