I hate crickets!

I found a cricket like two days ago, smushed it, then yesterday found a couple and smushed 'em. Then today as I'm sitting here at my desk I feel a cricket crawl across my foot! Agh! Then I look up and there are two BABY crickets on the wall!! It's like it's straight out of a horror movie! I brought the vacuum in here and I've been sucking them up ( Read more... )

LOL
I'd say get a lizard, but then you'd have a lizard running around as well. Granted, it would eat the crickets, thereby eliminating that particular problem... ;)

crickets are generally considered to be good luck in a home...
but they are quite frustrating.
I'd try the traps listed on this site before the residual pesticides only because they are less icky to have around.

The other night when I went to do my laundry... I ended up killing 6 black widows...

They were everywhere.

Aww, I'm sorry Lisa! But I have to say, that's a darn good idea with the vacuum. And Amy and I feel your pain, because we have a bunch of crickets in our apartment too. Not to mention the beehive on our balcony...

Bees! I hate bees! Casa de Fruta is full of them, and when I carry around a meat prop, they swarm me like crazy :-( I'm getting better about not freaking out when they're around, though, to just let them munch on the chicken feet and ignore them.. hehe..

Yes, I think ignoring them is the key. You wanna hear a weird/funny story? About two weeks before we moved out of our old apartment, I was laying in bed sleeping one morning when all of a sudden I felt this extremely sharp pain near my right elbow. I immediately woke up, sat straight up in bed and looked around, and there was a wasp right there, buzzing around! I had been stung in my sleep! I was so angry at that wasp, but I was kind of grateful at the same time because it had woken me up. And the weird thing is, when I was stung, I was dreaming that I was being stung by a wasp.
