Looking for good TV series

I know that all of you on my f-list have an excellent taste in fandoms (which is why we're friends :-P) and I need your help. Boyfriend and I are looking for new TV series to watch! That is, new for us, the series can be old actually (though not too old, boyfriend doesn't like if it looks too old and not as expensively produced as today). Anything

If you are at all into US politics, The West Wing is a must watch. Even if you aren't, the first few seasons of it (well, season 2 and 3) are among the best television ever made.

Beyond that, I'll have to have a think.

Leverage is EXCELLENT. It has a storyline. I don't know if it's the best overarching storyline ever. I do like some of the character arcs, though

Older shows?

My hubby and I are currently rewatching one of our favorites: Babylon 5. Excellent show, though the last 3 seasons are better than the first 2, that's not to say those are not good as well.

Have you ever seen the 1980s version of Beauty and the Beast? It may fall into the category of cheesy, mainly because of the clothes (big hair and women in jackets with linebacker shoulder pads) but it's a great premise and wonderful world building.

Most of the other shows I've liked in more recent years have already been recced by others or else they got canceled after one season. *sigh*

NCIS, Leverage, Grimm, CHAOS, Death in Paradise, The Glades, The Unusuals and Warehouse 13 are all good series.
