003. Emotions revived

Nov 08, 2009 15:07

I apologize for the hassle I may have caused recently. I've had no luck with finding Lucy; if anyone sees her, tell her to see me immediately.

Range has returned, but he's been turned into a dog. He has lost his memories again.

Aurora, clarify. Range's status is a dog?

She's still missing. Damn.

...He's a...dog.

There have yet to be any sightings of her. I don't like this.

Yes. It's rather strange, but he seems content enough. Most likely he will return to normal in roughly two weeks.

Have you spoken to Smoke?

[At checking the entry, Raise sighs. The dog is Range? Perhaps he shouldn't have decided to wait until Aurora was in a better mental state to inform him of Range's disappearance. With the large bear lumbering behind him (And Veda whimpering in a corner from a glare from the carnivore,) he knocked on the door to Aurora's room.]

...Aurora? May we speak?

[Aurora looks up at the knock at the door, seated in front of computer system he had started gutting together from Helix's collection. Beside him, 'Range's' ears perk up, but the dog doesn't bother to move from his curled up position.]

Of course. Come in, Raise.

[He enters, allowing the bear to follow him. The creature walked in slowly, finding a place to sit out of the way and watch with an almost stern gaze. He shut the door behind them, glancoing from Aurora, to the dog, to Aurora again.]

I checked the journal. Aurora... I don't believe the dog is Range.

[He glances down for a moment.]

Blood found Range's journal at the elevator and it was still updating. Bastet had been keeping it and checking it... and it stopped working a day or so ago. I don't believe he's still in the sphere.

[It was difficult to say all at once, but he manages, quietly stating the facts.] I'm sorry.

[Aurora freezes as he listens to Raise, his expression lax. That Raise had just stood there and told him that, was it just a poorly timed joke? No, Raise wasn't the type to do that, but Aurora is positive he's right.]

It's- If he was changed into a dog, perhaps that caused the connection between him and his journal to be broken. We still don't fully understand how it works.

[The dog stops wagging his tail, sitting up with an oddly serious expression for an animal, his right eye revealed as softly frosted over from blindness, voice painfully familiar. "Hey, don't be so quick to dismiss him, Aurora. After all, he probably knows more about what's going on than I do."]
