The Edwards withdrawal is sad, but the Giuliani withdrawal and the Huckabee poor finish are both delightful. I know it will probably jinx things to say it out loud, but I find myself peeking out from around my huge wall of cynicism, daring to fantasize about a McCain-Obama match up, a presidential campaign in which *neither* candidate is a crook,

McCain-Obama would indeed be a wonderful race. Unfortunately, I think it's going to end up McCain-Clinton. And even more unfortunately, I think McCain is going to win. I've been reading some extremely ugly stuff online today about the south and the number of people who absolutely won't vote for Obama and also think that Clinton is too liberal. But still, it's a wonderful thing to think that the Democratic candidate WILL be either black or a woman.
