What a nice treat, to have your husband take a day off work. :) Sounds like you had a lovely birthday!

I forgot to add that I saw a brief clip of Cate as Dylan and she was wonderful. I must admit that I didn't know how she was going to pull off that portrayal but it appears that she did. Good on her.

Don't worry, I'm not much good at remembering birthdays myself. It was a good day; having my husband spend it with me made it special.

Nor me, so to receive any is more than I deserve. It is nice though, so thank you.

Happy Birthday - it's so good to hear from you!! I still have to do your birthday post so - it will still be your birthday my time but will probably be late in your time zone - sorry about that. Glad you and your husband got to spend the day together - sounds like a nice BD!!

Thank you. I'm not very good at remembering birthdays so I am really touched that people have remembered mine.

Later we watched "I'm not there". An interesting concept, worth seeing but not entirely successful, since it depended so much on the quality of the actors.

Thanks for this review, Earth's Daughter/Brummie. I am very interested in seeing this film. I still will go, having read your comments, but my expectation level will not be raised to the point where I cannot be pleased with it. The reviews I've read on this side of the ocean have been extremely positive.

So far, it hasn't played our city, which is odd since he was born here (Duluth, Minnesota). His family moved to Hibbing when "Bobby Zimmerman" was five or six. Hibbing is about sixty miles from here. (That's where we got our Siamese cats, in fact.) But this film still hasn't played here. It may never play here, I fear, since we only have multiplexes, rarely the home of odd films.
