It's been a day full of surprises! I got a call right before I left for Memphis this morning telling me that a friend of mine from high school (and a date to a few events) was in Memphis competing at the IBC! Yesterday was almost pure happiness. There were a few rough spots inbetween but, fortunately they were easily ignorable (okay, maybe not so easily, but the blow up was over before guests got there ( Read more... )

The snow was glistening on ground and tree branches this morning and thanks to school cancellations across the state I had some extra time to sit, relax and watch the birds flit around in it while the cats sat in a line and watched longingly with their noses smooshed up against the patio window ( Read more... )

I'm incredibly thankful for the beautiful sparkling, shimmering white blanket of snow on the ground and the big white flakes falling gently from the sky.
