[Suddenly, Lloyd face.]
-is it working? …
[There’s half a second more of a very perplexed looking young man before he’s apparently caught on that it is indeed working, and he’s grinning ear to ear, clearly giddy and impressed with the technology he’s received.]Oh, wow! This is so neat!! It’s really recording, just like that woman said, hahaha!

That would be pretty nice actually. I started reading the manual I received but, uh, there's an awful lot to read.

First of all, this object that you're contacting me through? It's called the Pokegear.

Pokégear, huh? That's what that lady called it, too. [...] You don't have any idea who she was supposed to be, do you? She was the first person I met after waking up here, but she kept insisting she was my mother.
[ooc; sorry for edits ;o;]

[That red outfit looks... REALLY familiar. ... Lloyd??]
[She REMEMBERS him-- or someone who looked exactly like him-- coming here a really long time ago. ... But like many repeat appearances, it looks like he doesn't remember... so she'll just. Not mention that. Wouldn't wanna freak the poor dude out.]
West would be a good start.

West? Okay, got it. [Not like he really had any other information to go by.] Where does that lead?

[If New Bark could accurately be called a town... Heather had always thought of it more as one of those snooty closed neighborhoods. Although she couldn't exactly blame the people who lived there for locking their doors and closing their blinds every time a new set of total strangers poofed into this world right in their front yards...]

[Totodile definitely agrees, huffing at Lloyd's side even as they start off. Lloyd gives him an apologetic smile, then returns his attention to the Pokégear.]
So what's your name? Did everyone start out in this weird town?

[Totodile can be seen nodding enthusiastically at Lloyd's side. Both look equally proud at the compliment.]
A water type... I'll have to keep that in mind. This manual thing says there's a ton of different types of these... um... [He looks down at the book a moment - and Totodile's proud face drops, looking a little exasperated.] Oh, right. Pokémon, right?

[The houndour just makes an unsure face before he slowly hides behind her dress.]
He's a fire and dark type. I've been reading many books about their types, they are really interesting!

If he's a fire type... then that means Totodile here would have the advantage, right? [The Pokémon in question lets out a pleased, affirmative croak.] All right! I get it.

That sounds like the gist of it. If you need direction, you might wanna head to Cherrygrove next.

Cherrygrove's the town to the west, right? Seems like that's really the only way to go for now.

That's right. It's a three day trip, so don't leave unprepared.
Reply
Three whole days? Seriously? Man... why couldn't I have the Rheairds with me?

Wait, why "if"? Someone had to have randomly brought us here, right? Then there's got to be a way back.

[Right to the heart of the problems, huh? Merlin shakes his head.] That's what all the trainers have been thinking, but no one's found a way back just yet. [Pause] On their own, at least.

How do you mean "on their own?" [He looks down at his Totodile, who blinks back up to him.] Does it have something to do with the Pokémon?
