[The smell of baking cookies fills the kitchen and the hallway outside of it. Souji's at the fridge, pouring a glass of milk, which he sets on the table. He looks over toward the oven where babbyfied Yousuke is standing, peering into the window in the oven door. Souji smiles to himself.]

It'll be a few more minutes.

[Minato had been out of his room for a little while, daring to venture out. He didn't have his seal plush with him as he left it in his room, but a small part of him did wish he had it with him wherever he went.

There was the smell of cookies from the kitchen, so Minato headed very cautiously in that direction, just staying outside of said kitchen and peeking his head in to see who was there.]

[Souji notices Minato in the doorway as he's straightening up from checking the cookies. He smiles slightly at him.]

Hey, Minato.

Huh?

[Yousuke turns around in his chair, and spots just the top of Minato's blue head. He perks up, and happily slides out of his seat, trotting over to greet his friend.]

Hi, Minato! We're making cookies!

[Minato knew that leaving his room meant encountering people, let alone speaking to them. He saw who it was in the kitchen and it did make him feel a little better or safer.

He had to look up, up, and up at Souji, and then looked over to Yousuke and nodded. Yousuke being that outgoing helped, and Minato dared to step into the kitchen and dared to talk.]

... Okay.

[He wondered what kind of cookies, but well, cookies were always good no matter what kind they were.]

[Souji crouched so he wouldn't tower over Minato so much.]

They're sugar cookies. Do you want to share them?

[Yousuke takes a hold of Minato's sleeve and tugs at it insistently.]

[Minato wasn't sure if it would be okay to share cookies. No one had really asked him that before. But he nodded as that seemed to be the right thing to do and plus, somewhere probably not all that deep down inside of him, he did want a cookie.

Decorate? What's that mean when it comes to cookies? But he ended up following wherever Yousuke had tugged him after making a very small surprised sound and looking a little uncertain.]

[Souji stands up to pour a glass of milk for Minato, which he sets on the table. There are sprinkles and some frosting set out. He pats a seat for Minato to climb into.]

[Yousuke moves around Minato and begins to push him instead of pulling.]

[Minato nodded quickly again and thanks to Yousuke's help, he was over at the seat and climbed up into the seat Souji had designated for him. He didn't want to say no or run away to hide, his curiosity taking over and helping to get rid of his fear.

... It was really colorful on the table. Wow. Were those sprinkles? Really? Minato lowered his head a little so it was about even with the table and reached to carefully poke at the bottle of rainbow sprinkles to test if it was real or not. He waited a little though, wanting to watch them decorate some first. That in itself was going to be fun, and the best thing ever right now besides the warm, fuzzy feeling of being around friends.]

[Souji busies himself getting the cookies out of the oven and onto a couple of plates so that they can each decorate several of them. He sets a plate in front of each of them.]

They're still warm. Be careful.

[Yousuke is overwhelmed with all the wonderful options set before him. Well, to get the sprinkles to stick, he needs to frost the cookies. So he starts off by grabbing a butter knife and slathering white frosting onto a sugar cookie.]

[Minato sat up a little straighter now and nodded once at Souji's warning. He quietly thanked him for the cookies and watched as Yousuke went to work. It looked easy, like Yousuke had told him, but Minato spent a lot of his time just watching instead, seeing how someone way more skilled at it than he was went about decorating the cookies.]

[Souji had a few of his own to decorate, but he left them to the side for the moment, watching to make sure Yousuke didn't make a huge mess.

He glanced at Minato after a moment.]

[Well, the mess hasn't spread over to Minato's part of the table just yet, so that's good. Minato winced very lightly when addressed, then looked up at Souji. He nodded and pulled the plate with a cookie on it a little closer to himself as if to get ready to start decorating. He just wanted to do it right.]
