that part of you

My friend Cory put it perfectly the other day -
"You know that part of yourself that you don't get to use when you're single? I miss that part."

My best parts exist in relation to other people. I don't think this is dependence. I think it's just...I think that the capacity for love is the best part of every person.

solitude, guys/men/fellas/boys

well it can be argued that humans are social animals, just like dogs and apes. These animals are, in a sense, built to co-exist. I'd even argue that the simple fact that it takes two of us to procreate indicates that we are not meant to be alone forever.

I think the fact that we have developed the capacity for speech is pretty telling, as well.

Monkeys need other monkeys.

Even a big old introvert like me knows I'm better when I have other people in my life. I have to make sure I get enough quiet time to not go nuts, but not so much that I forget how to act in polite company.

ha. yes, that is the trick of it.
I need a lot of solitude - but too much is as crazy-making as too much social time.
delicate balance, I tell ya.

I do, too.
Cory is very wise. She often phrases things succinctly and perfectly.
