They did something to a battery pack that was leaking, then smoldering, then the lid of the containment barrel went *puff!* and it was smoldering. Goodnight, Grandpa
My grandfather died today. He was not doing well. This year has been hell on him, but he fought through it all...but he was tired. Brain cancer, and surgery to remove it. Broken arm, replaced with a metal one, and bone cancer. He was just so tired of it all, and I can't blame him. It was his time. A WWII veteran, he was always...grumpy. But ( Read more... ) -

What a ridiculous amount of stuff that's occurred. Well, let's work backwards, shall we? Most recently, I purchased a house. A nice, big one, with lots of land, very close to work. Once again, once-a-fucking-again, I wake up in tears. I'm still having awful nightmares about my Bagheera. I still can't see a picture of him without instantly being feeling utterly miserable.
It's been two years, yet it still feels like it happened yesterday.

It wasn't even a full day later...
Today, at approximately noon, a very good and dear friend of our family..no, scratch that. He is family. He suddenly died due to an aneurysm in his stomach bursting, causing a heart attack. He was surrounded by the people he loved most in the world, his daughters, and their kids, who spent the whole weekend with him. I can't even imagine what ( Read more... ) -
