I came home today and there was this very long box leaned up against our door. Had my name on it and it was from one of my best friends.

It really is a blessing to have friends who are artists...and the cool thing is she thinks it's great to have a friend who writes. We both win, but today, today she stunned me.

I think we decided the tree in the back that has all kinds of little ripening fruits is a kumquat. Never seen one before, but after looking the net that's what it appears to be.

The birds and deer don't eat them though! ....Isn't that a bit odd?

What does one do with a kumquat? Off to do more reading (is such a geek).

IF you like well-written stories that are likely categorised as "fluff" but still told well, I suggest reading Karri's The Prince and the Pea. It features a young Estel, Legolas, Glorfindel, Elrohir and Elladan with small parts by Celeborn and Elrond.

Worth a grin and a chuckle for a well-told cute story.:)
