My mother called to say that my father died last night. He had been in hospital for a week, last night he had so much convulsions that they took him back to ICU where he died in great suffering and pain. My mother said he was yelling and crying, but he had no idea where he was. He had not been lucid since he fell last week.

I am sorry for all the pain you felt during his life, and hope that your father's death brings him, your mom, and mostly you, some kind of peace. I'm also sorry that your time with him during his life was so horrific, but inspired by your struggle to make your life complete and sweet despite the major bumps.
