Yossi has been talking more lately. On one hand, he's been using "no" very appropriately. When I ask if he wants something and he wants to refuse, he shakes his head and says, "No, no." When he does something he knows he's not supposed to do and sees me looking at him, he wags his finger at himself and says, "No-no-no ( Read more... )

I heard Yossi utter an honest-to-goodness sentence the other day.

We were out walking through the parking lot, and he was waving and babbling happily at the cars driving past. Then he pointed at one particular vehicle and said, "Cah. Cah go."

Good for you, little boy!

Yossi has evolved a bit of his own sign language. Sometimes when he's hungry, instead of signing "nurse", he looks at me and lifts up his shirt.

Aside: He is currently cutting 2 teeth on the bottom jaw. It is making him testy. Plus he has learned how to climb on most of the furniture.

Yossi's begun trying to say "uh-oh". So far he's got the intonation right, but it's coming out "unh-unh ( Read more... )

I can hardly believe it, but it seems Yossi is really trying to talk. "Ma ma ma ma" has gone from babble to something he says to identify me or get my attention. When I tell him he's getting a new diaper he says "da da" or sometimes "da ba". Sometimes when he finishes nursing he says "done" or "ah da". It's astonishing. As big as he is, I am ( Read more... )
