1.  Opening game of the Soccer World Cup starts in a couple of hours.  I'm excited.  All flutter in my tummy wondering how things will turn out.  Who's going to win?  It would be cool if it was Germany, but since four of our top players (including our team captain, Michael Ballack) are out with injuries, I fear it won't be.  Sorry, I hardly even ( Read more... )

Okay, my girls (esp. Little Sweetie) are still rather invested in the German national soccer team. They still know who Michael Ballack is. They are distressed to hear of his injuries and agree that "er hat Pech." And Little Sweetie says, "Aw, that's terrible! I LOVE Ballack!"

Well, if Germany doesn't do well, I'm cheering for Chile. But yeah--I don't really connect "soccer" and "the US" in the same sentence...

Although I could get excited if it turns out that the US does really well. Sorry, I can't bring myself to even consider that they might win, but all sorts of crazy things have been known to happen.

I thought I would pop over and try to leave a comment on your blog! I love that we're both cheering for Germany! I sure hope they pull it off! Hope you're doing well and enjoying the short summer! How exciting to get to visit Paris! :)

Hey, nice to see you here.

Yes, we were totally stressed during the game against Ghana. When it was over, we went out and joined the festivities on the street for a few minutes until it started getting out of hand. I think the German fans were even more drunk after this one than usual, and that is saying something.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your posts about the World Cup.
