I've been away so long,people appear to have forgoten what it sounds like when i dj,so i've been asked to dj at the enterprise in camden on thursday i cant wait,it will be the same as before although i've a new luke haines album some new helen love and a new go kart mozart album,there will probally be a lot of mountain goats too,it's pirate themed

no one wants to hear songs about me confused and naked in an airport,i hope they want to hear songs about dick bruna the creator of miffy or looking for love in a night club,as thats what i'm avoiding doing.

yep i'm definitely playing jenny,i actually have a compilation of real pirate songs performed by the likes of nick cave,loudoun waignwright,jarvis cocker and andrea corr but its pretty heavy going to dj anywhere apart from on a boat surrounded by desperate an scary men.

i bought the jarvis album the same day i bought haines new album,so haven't given it a proper listen but love it from the 1st couple of plays through,luke haines seems to have become denim on record and jonathon richman live splendid.

Ah right, Tearing Up The Album Chart. They were supporting Jarvis - it was exciting, although my ability to take them seriously (as if I needed to) has gone down ever since I found out why Lawrence always wears a hat....

I've got the Haines album on my Xmas list, but I've been told that it's quite Denim-ish. This is an exciting prospect. xx

ps: You know how they've started repeating This Life on BBC2? Yeah, I'm kind of addicted now. Is that wrong?

yr comment above about jarv reminded me that since you said one of the only rockstars we're allowed to listen to is jarvis cocker, my dad doesn't hate pulp anymore! which also reminds me when you were in toronto i had an illegal burned copy of the jarvis album for you and i forgot to give it to you, ugh.

btw, you should totally be writing new songs about getting dressing gowns for yr birthday, i can't possibly think of a better topic for a song.

i don't remember either, but nev and my dad and everyone else does, and jarvis cocker is basically god, so why not.

holy shit, it's a pretty great hat. looks very warm. also looks very russian. which is kind of fabulous.

I like that i'm saying this here, even though you are less than 5 meters away furiously writing lyrics, even if some of them are out the books of slowly declining in quality scottish authors.
